If I fall into One mo' wormhole.....

....I mean really; my disappearing acts have got to stop!....aaaah me.

So, Where did I leave off like...4 months ago???...

Oh yes!...Well, things have definitely been moving along. I've relocated from Philly a.k.a. "Illadelphia" to "HOTlanta". Definite upgrade in my opinion. Sorry Philly'ites, but ATL has better shopping, better restaraunts, cleaner air, nicer peeps, and TREES!!!!...BUT, no worries Philly. You still have your "Bell" =o)

Music is crazy! The "Best of 80's Dance Vol. 3" compilation is picking up steam, peeps. It has recently been released to iTunes so if you haven't downloaded the hottest dance compilation of the year,...you're LATE!!... snag it!:
Carol Hahn
Pepper MaShay
Jacinta
Raquela
Rikah
and more!!!

It's due to release commercially in Feb 2010 w/ a FULL, all out promotion campaign! So excited to see how long the legs get on this lovely lady of a project;)

I mentioned in an earlier post that I have been working on a full-length Pop album...(BIG SIGH) Well, life just likes to throw little twisties and turnies in the mix to keep a diva on her pointed toes. I do still plan to release a full length project and am currently working on it, but in lieu of unforeseen circumstances (i'm not even sure what that means), I had to switch my team up a bit.
Harry Towers of Deet Promotions recently introduced me to Quincy B. of Beatnik Castle (Mad Monk, LTC) Beatnik Castle ft Francillia has a massive track that is burning up the charts right now "Will U Be Mine". (Check out the video below).
Quincy B. is a phenominal musician and we've been stirring up the music pot a bit. Oooooo...things are starting to cook...I will keep you posted on the progression of thangs...All of you are in for quite a treat....That's all I can say right now.

Well, here's to an AMAZING 2010 for all of us HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

CAPP Records Press Release

Release Title: OHSHA KAI – I Can’t Wait
Label: CAPP Records
Promo Type: Digital
While some in the dance music industry might bemoan dance cover songs, there’s no questioning their extreme popularity with the music buying public. Some of CAPP’s most commercially-successful and lasting releases continue to be popular songs from the 1980’s, reinterpreted with a fresh dance vibe. And coming this fall is an all-new compilation consisting of covers from some of the dance industry’s most beloved performers, including Pepper MaShay (whose Freeway of Love was just released as a single), Carol Hahn, Jacinta, Raquela, Dare 2B Dif’rnt, Ernest Kohl, and others, including perennial CAPP artists like Rikah, Fab, Cary August, DJ Cobra and more!
And now, we’re pleased to announce the pre-release of a song to appear on the new compilation, a great new take on I Can’t Wait (originally from Nu Shooz), by none other than dance songstress Ohsha Kai!
From her humble beginnings just a few short years ago (auditioning in her native Philadelphia for industry veterans Ron Hirsh, Harry Towers and Paulie D.), Kai has scored a pair of Billboard dance hits. Her track Free Your Mind hit #6 on the Club Chart, spending over three months in the normally quick-changing chart. And her second release, Out of My Mind, also hit the Top 10. After being raised in a home filled with the sounds of gospel greats like Vickey Winans and Shirley Ceasar, perhaps it was inevitable that Ohsha Kai would find her way to the spotlight!
"I was tremendously excited to be a part of the project," Kai says of the moment CAPP president Dom Toulon asked if she’d be interested in participating. "Dom suggested I Can’t Wait, and I knew right away that it’d be a great song to honor with a dance cover."
If you "can’t wait," download your digital promotional copy of I Can’t Wait today! Download links accompany this press release, or will be provided to working DJ’s on request.
As always, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT, and all the best from San Francisco!

I's done composed myself now

So I've since calmed my nerves; especially since a friend informed my I was actin' crazy...
Anyway, a bit more progress with "I Can't Wait":

- got my first dance Radio add:) (DMX Music- hiya Randy S: we don't really know each other, but I like to dream of knowing fab people)

- hit the charts on iDanceRadio.fm

Like a lot of people, I've left Myspace for dead...I mean, I literally forgotten about it's existence. But a lil jog of the memory brought me back to my page and there waiting for me was an unopened message from a new UK label (Disport Records) asking me to drop vocal for a dub to be included on their first project release! WELL,...... my career can most certainly use a UK B-shot for sho'!! I was happy to oblige. I'll keep ya posted on that one too...One thing you'll get to know about me: I'm fascinated with everything Europe. I mean, duh...I'm an American aren't I?

The Freakout

Ok, sooooooo, ummm I'm freaking out a bit...Ok, more than a bit, lol.

I'm so used to "the nightclub" world where things move at the speed of ...well, the speed of the tracks we put out (135 beats per min). Seems radio doesn't move quite as quickly and I'm just kind of wondering what's up with "I Can't Wait"??? (how fitting the title in this moment) I'm sure my freakout is premature but SO WHAT! I'm neurotic; which you'll learn to love, btw. What can I say?
Anyway, yeah so, I haven't heard very much at this point...gulp!
I've been googling my lil fingers off and I have found some exciting tidbits; a few good reviews, my first dance radio add (yay, idanceradio.fm!!), some record chart "top pick" placements, a spot on a house compilation along with some maj' labe' artist like Pitbull, Mariah, Black Eyed Peas, Cascada, Lady Gaga..and ME????"I Can't Wait- Ohsha Kai vs Nu Shooz"! Whaaa??? HOLLA!!
Well DAMN! I guess now that I'm writing all this, I'm starting to feel a lil' better:)..ooops. How embarrassing;}
I guess things are just moving at the appropriate pace, I'm just an eager lil thang!

Thank goodness for blogging. It puts shit in perspective, ya know.
I feel pressure this time around because I've been under the radar for quite a while; really before I could even get my career started good, ya know what I mean? So, I have high hopes for this track and and high needs. Let me keep it real. So, It's driving me crazy not knowINg WHAT HAPPENING!!! In dance club world, a track could be on the Billboard breakout charts by now!!! UGH!...(ok, breath Ohsha) I'll just light some candles and chill and put out the good track vybes to the universe...aaahhhhh..there. That should do it:)

In the meantime, back on the Philly (soon to be Atlanta) Ranch..I have a major project in the works that I will spill one droplette at a time in future blogs;)
Well my beautiful bloggies, smootches till next time...("smootches",...that's "diva talk", hehehe)

Chapter I: The Introduction

Some of you reading this may already know me, but for those of you who don't, I'll squish a few years worth of events in about a 2min read.

In August of 2005 I was signed to Act 2 Records (owned by Ron Hirsch) and put out my first dance/pop single a few months later called "Free Your Mind". ( I posted the Video from my first performance caught on my friend's cell phone (hi orlando)!!! EEK! Ya gotta start somewhere, right? (Watch it but BE NICE!) It hit #6 on the Billboard dance/club chart, Top 10 iTunes dance charts, Top 3 on Sirius satellite radio, and Top 10 on the world dance/ trance charts. Not a bad start! : ) About a year later I released a single called "Outta My Mind" (Act 2 Records). It also hit Top 10 on Billboard dance/club chart.
Just as everything seemed like it was moving in the right direction and my career was about to take off, a wrench was tossed into the "weerrrkings"! As I was working on my 3rd single and full length album; my label closed it's doors and decided to go in a different direction in the business! So, there I was, no 3rd single; no album and my last single had been released damn near a year before!..Hmmmmm, ...well...ain't this "messy". And I have to admit I wasn't the best at keeping tabs on all of my industry contacts, so I felt lost for a moment and wasn't sure what to do at that point. I kinda figured that was it and I considered giving up my music career all together. (Gasp!) So I went under cover in corporate America for a hot min. You can laugh, but rent was due...HOLLA! But the lil' Diva inside me was singing out in a high C to be unleashed. All the while, a track I did with Capp Records in the midst of it all was brewing. Remembering this and feeling that it was going to be dropping soon, gave me that nudge I needed to rise up and be fiercer than ever!

So that brings me to why I'm here right now. This Blog is to chronicle my attempt to go from here: a fairly obscure and budding artist who has been "stopped short" to Major Diva status! Well, ...a sweet Diva...with a lil spice of course;). I wanna share my journey, my triumphs and catastrophes; my opinions (I may get a little shady at times, but it's with love so,..it's ok;), my fears and revelations; my celebrations and tears. And I have lots of surprises in store for all of you (some things will even be a surprise to myself!...ahhemm,..err, anyway) I may Rise or I may Fall but either way you biatches are comin' with me!

I hope that you enjoy the ride as much as I do. The rebirth starts here: Capp Records just pre-released the cover of "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz that has been abrewin for a min. It started with this press release:

I'm not sure what's going to happen from here. I've been M.I.A from the music scene for almost 2 years now, but believe you me I have plans to come back Hotter than ever beehas!!!! Hahahaha!
